A small flight of steps leads to the entrance and into an exceptionally spacious open-plan living area with a vaulted ceiling and an abundance of natural light. Deep, comfortable sofas and armchairs create a welcoming space to relax, while a modern flat-screen smart TV is perfect for cosy evenings in.
French doors open onto a Juliet balcony with wonderful views across the grounds, tennis court and surrounding Devon countryside—an ideal vantage point to watch children enjoying the outdoor spaces.
Stairs lead up to a mezzanine level overlooking the living area, creating a versatile additional space. This works beautifully as a play area for children or a quiet retreat for reading and unwinding. A sofa bed here provides additional sleeping if required.
The well-equipped kitchen offers generous workspace and everything needed for easy holiday cooking. A dining table seating six to eight makes it simple to gather everyone together, whether for a relaxed breakfast before heading out or a leisurely evening meal.
On warmer days, dining can spill outdoors, with the patio on the ground floor below providing a lovely setting for BBQ evenings using the Weber grill.
Bedroom One
A compact master bedroom with a built-in double bed, accessed from one side. Cosy and comfortable, this room is best suited to those who don’t mind a more snug sleeping space and may not be ideal for very tall guests.
Bedroom Two
A spacious twin room with room for a cot. This bedroom benefits from an en-suite shower room and French doors opening directly onto the ground-floor patio.
Bedroom Three
A small twin room with L-shaped cabin beds, ideal for children (best suited for under 12s). Space is limited, and while a cot may fit at a squeeze, it may restrict use of the room.
Additional Sleeping
A single sofa bed is available on the mezzanine level, suitable for an older child or adult. Please request this at the time of booking if required.
A modern family bathroom with bath, shower over, WC, basin and heated towel rail (refurbished January 2026).
An additional en-suite shower room with WC is located within the main twin bedroom.
The cottage is fully centrally heated, with underfloor heating providing extra comfort throughout.
The ground-floor patio, accessed from the twin bedroom, enjoys lovely views towards Dartmoor and offers direct access to the grounds and tennis court. With a wooden picnic bench and Weber BBQ, it’s a perfect spot for relaxed outdoor dining while children play nearby.
Guests also have full use of Gitcombe’s shared facilities, including the indoor pool, sauna, hot tub, soft play and open lawns—ideal for both active days and slower moments spent on a sun lounger.
Parking is available in the general parking area behind the cottages.
