Plan Your Stay

The glorious coast, beaches, countryside, towns and villages of south Devon offer endless opportunities and attractions for things to see and do during your stay. We may be biased, but we think this area, known as the South Hams, is the best bit of Devon! It has a stunning coastline and a pretty, unspoilt interior. Guests often tell us that they run out of time to fit everything in and need a return visit to explore fully this amazing area of England and the South West.

Browse here for inspiration on where to go and what to do during your stay at Gitcombe House Country Cottages. Make plans for a fun-filled, action packed time messing about on the water, or maybe visit Woodlands Adventure Park. Enjoy a gentle, relaxed sun bathe on the beach at Blackpool Sands or by the outdoor swimming pool at Gitcombe.

If you are a foodie, the South West is a source of great, local, seasonal food and drink. Artisan wine and cheese makers, butchers, bakers, fishmongers, delis, farm shops and farmers' markets, offer opportunity to taste and buy local food. Eating out? Our restaurants, cafes and waterside inns offer something for all, from Michelin star dining to simple beach shack fare. Close to the coast as we are, no visit would be complete without sampling the wonderful, fresh seafood, not to mention fab fish and chips! British food at it's freshest.

A wealth of local arts and crafts people, independent shops, boutiques and galleries provides ample opportunity for creative purchases! Visit Totnes, Dartmouth or Salcombe to indulge in a spot of retail therapy followed by a decadent Devon cream tea. We put the clotted cream before the jam on our scones in Devon!

Enjoy Gitcombe, enjoy south Devon and have a fabulous holiday!
