'Tis the season to be jolly……. so come and deck your barn with holly

Mmm, mince pies, glass of fizz, the scent of wood smoke in the air, star lit skies, family times

Escape to Gitcombe and enjoy all your creature comforts, traditions and food, but in your own time, as you would at home. You decide who to see, when to go out, what and when to eat, when to light the log fire, when and if you go to bed! There’s only yourselves to please...complete freedom.

Our cottages offer quality, comfort and style and all that you need to make the most of this very special time.

What’s more, you can relax in our wonderful leisure spa with its heated indoor pool, sauna and steam rooms. The outdoor hot tub is magical on a frosty winter’s morning or at night, under clear, starry skies.

The active can work out on the tennis court, or go for a hilly jog. Children can wrap up snugly and burn off energy in the outdoor playground. You can all explore the grounds and local country walks. Little ones can opt for a warmer option, having fun in the indoor soft play area

If it rains, there’s more than enough to do indoors, and if it snows, then hey, it’s time for snowmen. And don’t worry, we provide a freshly potted Christmas tree, so Santa will still know where to find you.

Just because you are away from home, it doesn’t mean that you’ll miss out on culture, great food and good times. There’s lots to see and do here, with top class eateries (including John Burton Race's elegant Michelin starred New Angel restaurant and Mitch Tonks' chic and informal Seahorse restaurant, both in Dartmouth), pantos, carol singing and ice skating at Cornwall's Eden Project.

Stop off for a steaming mug of hot chocolate after a bracing stroll on Blackpool Sands' award winning beach. May be have breakfast there in the Venus Cafe, or go for brunch at the enduringly popular and continental style Al Frescos - they serve a mean English breakfast with fantastic bangers!

Watch, or even join, the revellers in traditional fancy dress costume in Dartmouth on New Year’s Eve, an experience not to be missed!

Short breaks (min 4 nights) & 7 night stays available, so come on your own, or bring your friends & family along too.

Here’s to good times and magical memories… Don’t forget to bring the Bolly!

Tango, resident pooch, at his home in Gitcombe House!
